STREETS OF ST. CHARLES CAPITALIZES ON THE POP-UP SHOP TREND
Craft Co. and Ju Ju B’s Boutique Now Open
(St. Charles, MO, August 5, 2020) – Cullinan Properties announces the opening of two unique pop-up shops at Streets of St. Charles. Craft Co. and Ju Ju B’s Boutique recently opened as part of a growing trend in retail, where temporary spaces are used to introduce new concepts or businesses to the public.
Craft Co., opened by Nicole Simon, Play Street Museum’s St. Charles franchise owner, offers children the opportunity to explore their sense of creativity and independence through art. As an expansion of Play Street Museum, the pop-up expands on a process already included in the Play Street experience called “process art,” which allows children to develop their own creations. It is more about the creation, imagination, and development rather than the final art project. At Craft Co., children use recycled and new materials as tools to make, explore, and create their own works of art. Craft Co. is open next to U-Swirl on Beale Street.
“We developed this space for children to be able to create in a socially distant environment. It’s a great complement to Play Street Museum, adding to our mission of exploration through play,” stated Simon.
Ju Ju B’s Boutique is a locally owned women’s fashion boutique that became a reality when two friends, Julie Cullinane and Beth Butchko, began their journey into retail fashion in 2005 opening their Chesterfield store, which also houses a salon. The new Streets of St. Charles pop-up, located between Picasso’s Coffee and Supercuts, carries trendy and unique apparel, shoes, accessories, jewelry, scarves, intimates and more. Ju Ju B’s focuses on a great customer experience by helping each person find fashion to fit their lifestyle.
Julie Cullinane, Ju Ju B’s co-owner stated, “We’ve toyed with the idea of expansion over the years and for the 15th anniversary of Ju Ju B’s in Chesterfield, we decided to spread our wings by opening a pop-up boutique. We figured there was no better place than at Streets of St. Charles, where we have shared so many enjoyable times at Prasino, Picasso’s Coffeehouse and Orange Theory Fitness!”
The pop-up shop trend was originally introduced to the retail landscape in large cities as early as the 1990’s and is growing in popularity. Forbes Magazine reports the pop-up trend is here to stay. Patricia Kueneke, Sr. Leasing Representative for Cullinan Properties states, “The pop-up shop is a national trend that is spreading quickly, in physical storefronts, on-line and even with established retailers looking to broaden their customer base. A retailer opens a pop-up, or temporary store, for a month or several months. This can lead to a permanent lease which is a win-win for the retailer, the customers and the landlord. We are excited to continue to explore this trend at Streets of St. Charles,” stated Kueneke.
Streets of St. Charles hosted the Missouri Artists on Main pop-up during the 2019 holiday season.
