Bar Louie Opening at Streets of St. Charles

Posted

Bar Louie, the popular bar-eatery recognized by its martini glass moniker, is now preparing to take its eccentric flare to the Streets of St. Charles. This will be its third unit in metro St. Louis; the other two are located in Kirkwood and the CWE.

As part of the forthcoming town center development in St. Charles, a press release announced Friday that Bar Louie will join the project lineup next spring, when it moves into the ground floor of a a five-story luxury building currently under construction. Among incoming and already-settled restaurants, retail shops and office space, Bar Louie will join a broad-based list of tenants at the new development, a location perhaps best described as "where Noah's Ark used to be," at I-70 and South Fifth Street.

Known for offering an extensive drink menu of signature martinis, import and microbrew beer, and more than 20 wines, Bar Louie has spread to roughly 20 states, from California to Kentucky.

And while many come for the s’mores martinis and strawberry peach bellinis, its food menu is rather sundry as well, featuring small plates of tempura shrimp and potstickers, nine different burgers (costing only $1 on Tuesday nights), sandwiches, flatbreads and salads. On the entrée menu, you’ll find anything from Ahi tuna to a breakfast burrito.

With unique architectural touches and décor at every location, Bar Louie is designed to foster a hip, urban feel. During weekends, Bar Louie becomes a lively late-night hangout with guest DJs and other live entertainers frequenting the stage.

Bar Louie St. Charles will be part of the second phase of the development, which, according to the release, aims to strengthen its reputation as a unique dining destination. It will be housed in a 400,000- square-foot building for mixed-use—residential, retail and entertainment—which will open this fall.

Already in place at the emerging town center (rendering below) is MassageLuXe, the Art Institute of St. Louis, Tucanos Brazilian Grill, Prasino, and the first Five Guys Burgers and Fries in St. Charles county. The Streets of St. Charles hopes to soon be a hub for luxury living and lively nightlife. It's already becoming a mecca for eclectic dining.
